Droidcon Berlin 2023: Inspiring Koin Connections & Launch of Cloud-Inject Open Beta Program

Droidcon Berlin, one of the highly anticipated events in the Android developer community calendar, took place last week. As proud sponsors of the event, we were happy to be a part of the excitement. Arnaud's role as a speaker added an extra boost to our experience.
In this blog post, we'll share our highlights of Droidcon Berlin 2023, including the connections made with Koin users, the introduction of our new developer platform, Cloud-Inject, ย and the memorable moments we shared over beer, pretzels, and sausages ๐ป.
Connecting with Koin Users
The best part of Droidcon Berlin was undoubtedly the opportunity to meet and connect with Koin users. As we engaged in interesting conversations, heard feedback, and collaborated on various ideas, we were reminded of the power of face-to-face interactions in strengthening the bonds within the community. The passion and dedication of Koin users left us inspired and motivated to continue pushing the boundaries of app development.

Thank you so much to all the Koin users we had the pleasure of meeting at the event.
Inject your Jetpack Compose Application with Koin
This was the title of Arnaud's talk on Day 1 ย in the brilliantly named Lovelace Room ๐. There was a great turnout for this talk. The level of engagement and interest displayed by the audience was great too with a few staying behind to ask thought-provoking questions and delve deeper into the integration of Koin with Jetpack Compose.

It was particularly gratifying to witness the presence of numerous Koin users in the audience, reaffirming the growing community and their enthusiasm for incorporating Koin into their development workflows.
Here's the white paper that Arnaud shared as part of his talk. We also handed out the Koin x Kotlin Multiplatform and Koin 3.4 & Koin Annotations 1.2 cheat sheets to help improve your Kotlin developer experience.
Introducing our New Dev Platform, Cloud-Inject
At Droidcon Berlin, we opened beta testing of our developer platform, Cloud-Inject. Cloud-Inject is a platform developed by the creators of the Koin framework designed to help Koin users gain architectural clarity, so you can build modular and scalable applications. The response from Koin users was really promising. Many expressed interest in helping test and give feedback on the platform. By joining our beta testing program, Koin users are in a position to influence the development process, helping us fine-tune the platform to meet your needs and expectations. You can join the beta program too, click ๐ for more details.

We're so grateful for the trust and enthusiasm shown by the Koin community, and we look forward to continuing to help improve your Kotlin developer experience.
Koin's Central Role in the KMP Ecosystem
JetBrains organized a brilliant challenge at Droidcon Berlin.
What should good app architecture look like?

Take part in our #Multiarchitect challenge at the @JetBrains booth and design an application powered by Kotlin Multiplatform.
The best solution will win a neon Kotlin sign! #dcbln23 pic.twitter.com/pzlK1SEUQD
This challenge shed light on the undeniable importance of Koin in the KMP ecosystem. As developers showcased their projects and architecture designs, it became evident(to our great joy) that Koin was a critical component in their development strategies.

We were blown away to see developers include Koin as an integral part of their architecture solutions.
Tales from the Open-Source World
On the final day of the conferences, Arnaud also participated in an inspiring panel discussion. He was joined by Kotlin GDE, Nicola Corti, ย Open Source Developer, cketti ฮ, & Amande Founder, Louis CAD - all OSS maintainers. They were generous enough to share personal experiences, discussed the challenges they had faced, and provided valuable insights into the dynamic and evolving nature of the OSS ecosystem. They explored the meaning of being a part of the Open Source community and delved into the process of getting started and progressing as an OSS contributor. They also touched on the potential professional opportunities and career advancement that arise from involvement in Open Source projects.

Wrapping Up
Needless to say, we're still in recovery mode. The countless beers, pretzels & sausages also did NOT ย help - but of course seemed like the best idea at the time ๐

Droidcon Berlin 2023 was an incredible event. ย We're immensely humbled & proud to be part of this community. As we move forward, we remain dedicated to providing developers with the tools and support you need to unlock the full potential of Koin in shaping the future of Kotlin & KMP development.
Thank you to all the developers who participated in the challenge and celebrated the success of Koin at Droidcon Berlin. Together, we'll continue to propel the KMP ecosystem forward, revolutionizing the way cross-platform applications are built and delivering extraordinary user experiences.
See you next year!๐
